Matt Baker is one of the most decorated Black Belts directly from Jean Jacques Machado of the World renown "Machado Brothers" [Cousins of the Gracies]. Matt was awarded his Black Belt directly from Jean Jacques Machado in 2007. As a competitor Matt has won many major IBJJF titles including PANs, Master Worlds, NoGi Worlds, and has reached the number 1# IBJJF ranking position on three separate occasions. In 2015, After 2 decades of Competition and Training, Matt ventured out to began the instructional project known as TRUJITSU, now taught throughout the United States, and Canada.
Matt Baker is the founder of TRUJITSU, a style of jiu jitsu designed to provide maximum results with minimal effort. Matt Baker developed the TRUJITSU system based on years of experience in competition and extensive experience as a referee. The overall goal of Matt Baker’s instruction and TRUJITSU is to help individuals get the most out of training jiu jitsu with concepts developed from over 25 years of elite level training and research.
